Starting 1 November 2007, the Ministry of Finance requires all Suppliers dealing with the Federal Government of Malaysia to have at least one ePerolehan Access Medium to access the ePerolehan system.

Suppliers are given the option to purchase a smart card with a reader or a ePXS USB Crypto token (which does not require any reader).

There are two types of smart cards that Suppliers may choose from i.e. the MyeP card or the MyKad eP Enabled. These must be used together with an ePerolehan smart card reader.

With the access medium, Suppliers will have the opportunity to publish their catalogues online where all ePerolehan-enabled Government agencies are able to view their products and make online orders.

The ePerolehan Access Medium acts as a key to enter  the ePerolehan system securely as every online acknowledgement data is captured and authenticated with a digital signature which cannot be disputed.

All Federal Government procurements for supply and services are conducted via the ePerolehan system. Suppliers are required to own at least one ePerolehan Access Medium to be able to transact online with Government agencies.
 
Suppliers may choose their preferred medium to purchase. Suppliers with many staff involved in ePerolehan may choose to buy the MyeP card for each of its users and purchase only one smart card reader  to be shared among them. On the other hand, if the supplier has only one ePerolehan user, the ePXS USB Crypto token may be more convenient as it does not require a smart card reader and is portable.   

Request for an ePerolehan Access Medium may be made during registration with the Ministry of Finance or by applying online at :
