Company lends a hand to Malaysian Relief Agency to store essential supplies

PETALING JAYA: Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd (CDC) has made their warehouse available to the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) to store essential supplies meant for hospitals and those in need in the Klang Valley.

The supplies, which include 10 tonnes of dry food, 13 tonnes of medical supplies and 13 tonnes of personal protective equipment (PPE), have been temporarily stored at CDC’s warehouse in Petaling Jaya since March 27.

CDC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Muzafar Kamal Shahaluddin, said the company will continue to provide assistance to MRA to store the supplies at its warehouse for a period of at least two months.

“Following the Covid-19 outbreak, MRA has been actively raising funds to help those in need and hospitals facing critical shortage of PPEs and medical supplies.

“We are simply doing our bit to provide assistance to the non-governmental agency so that the essential supplies would reach the targeted group and hospitals here in the Klang Valley.

“PPE supplies for instance are especially important to ensure that our frontliners are protected and that the spread of the virus can be prevented,” said Muzafar.

Established in 1999, CDC is the sole developer and operator of the Government electronic procurement system, ePerolehan.

The national project was implemented under the Electronic Government initiative as part of the MSC Flagship Applications.

The Malaysian Government was the first in the world to implement electronic procurement on a nationwide scale when ePerolehan was introduced in the year 2000.
