PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) ePerolehan system has recorded 10.4 million transactions worth RM115.8 billion since 2000 to December 2017, said deputy secretary general Datuk Siti Zauyah Md Esa.
She said this performance is beyond satisfactory and a testament to its efficiency after it was used to measure the government ministries and agencies’ key performance indicators (KPIs).
“The existing ePerolehan is one of the largest government-to-business markets in Asean and has managed to get its place across the business community including the large and small players.
“Up to December 2017, the number of active suppliers using eProcurement are 37,000,” she said in her speech at the launch of the new eProcurement system here today.
ePerolehan is a procurement system that uses a secure online environment to enable the government agencies and suppliers to perform procurement efficiently and transparently. It encompasses all types of government procurement.
Beginning January 1, 2018, the new ePerolehan system will come into effect, replacing the existing one, in line with Treasury Transformation Programme (TTP).
Through the new system, all government procurement for supplies and services will be done fully online and it will be made mandatory across all ministries, government departments and agencies.
Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani said the new system will facilitate a more effective execution of allocations outlined in the Budget 2018.
“We want to make sure every ringgit spent can really benefit the people and we hope this new system can help us in executing this more efficiently in the future,” he said.
