RECOMMENDED
4 ways leaders can build
resilience in their teams
Reduce unnecessary obstacles.
Leaders should identify, minimise, or removed all
together unnecessary obstacles. They should identify
improvements to processes and question the need for
excessive administration.
Promote adaptive behaviors.
When leaders show resilient behavior and thinking,
they can inspire it in others. These behaviors and
thinking styles might include promoting optimism
about the achievement of organisational goals,
celebrating success and promoting learning from, but
not dwelling on, failure.
Develop a sense of purpose and belonging.
Leaders are in a unique position to develop a collective
sense of purpose, cohesion, and belonging among their
team members. A leader who is willing to celebrate team
success or sincerely takes on feedback appears to have
only positive effects on the employees in their charge.
Give employees what they need to cope
with the demands of their roles.
Leaders need to be willing to ask, listen, and
respond to the strategies that employees believe
will help them to cope.
